Wnaeth y ffilm hon dorri tir newydd gyda ei wahanol fersiynau o'r un digwyddiadau, rhywbeth sy'n ddigon cyfarwydd erbyn hyn. Ar y pryd doedd pobl ddim yn gallu handlo fe, mae'n debyg.

Un o'r sawl cawr y byd delweddau symudol sy wedi cael ei ddylanwadu gan y ffilm hon yw'r anfarwol Homer Simpson:

Solyaris (Andrei Tarkovsky, 1972). Prynais i hon ar eBay, a doedd dim byd arall i'w wylio, felly dyma fi yn ail-wylio hon ar fy mhen-blwydd.

Hon oedd y ffilm gyntaf gan Tarkovsky i mi weld, nôl yn y haf y llynedd, felly oedd yn ddiddorol weld hi eto ar ôl gweld y rhan fwya o ffilmiau'r cyfarwyddwr yn y cyfamser. Am un peth, doedd y pacing, oedd wedi fy nharo yn araf dros ben y tro cyntaf i mi weld, ddim yn teimlo mor anarferol o araf y tro 'ma. The Weather Underground (Sam Green a Bill Siegel, 2002). À bout de souffle (Jean-Luc Godard, 1960). Pan dwedais i, wythnos o'r blaen taw A Bande Apart oedd y ffilm gyntaf gan Godard i mi weld, ro'n i wedi anghofio am hyn. Dw i'n cofio gweld e rhyw 10 mlynedd yn ôl pan o'n i yng Nghaerdydd (yn Chapter falle, yntau ar y teledu).

Dyma ffilm gyntaf Godard, ac un a oedd yn anhygoel o wreiddiol yn ei arddull (y "jump-cuts", y goleuo naturiol, y trac sain swnllyd, ac ati) a'r characterisation (dim geiriadur handi) o'r cwpl chwaraewyd gan Serberg a Belmondo, sy wedi eu hail-greu gan gyfarwyddwyr Americanaidd trwy gydol y 44 o flynyddoedd ers i hon cael ei wneud.
