Dysgu a dysgu

O Free Morpheme (linguablog newydd) daw’r erthygl hon ar bennawd o’r llyfr Principles of Language Learning and Teaching:

…those who are intolerant of even a little ambiguity tend to become closed minded, question everything, and misinterpret the Constitution (thanks Mr. President). Being able to perceive and think about ambiguity is great, it can aid in judgment. But the most important phrase I ever learned in any language is Parce-que c-est comme a. That is: Because thats the way it is. (loosely). My high school French teacher taught me that when I started asking too many questions about grammar. She wanted me to have faith. To trust that I would understand later, but that understanding now would not only be difficult, but would make other things difficult too. I had to learn to be tolerant of ambiguity in language learning. And I think I succeeded.

Igby Goes Down, (Burr Steers, 2002). Wnes i joio hon yn fawr. Ddim yn ffilm fawr, a braidd yn anodd teimlo yn ddrwg dros “arwr” sy’n dod o gefndir mor freintiedig, ond sgript miniog iawn a pherfformiadau tynn gan bawb.

Falle taw cyd-ddigwyddiad yw hwn, ond ers i mi ychwnaegu’r rhestr o sylwadau diweddar yna ar y chwith, mae nifer o sbam-sylwadau wedi mynd lan. Nes i mi ffeindio ffordd i’w stopo, plîs plîs plîs peidiwch â’u hannog gan glecio ar unrhyw linc mewn sylw “amheus” – h.y. unrhyw sylw sy ddim ag unrhyw cysylltiad â’r cofnod mae i fod yn sôn amdano. Os ydy’r sbamwwyr yn gweld bod darllenwyr y blog ’ma yn barod i ddilyn eu dolenni, cawn ni fwy ohonyn nhw, ac yn diwedd bydd rhaid i mi cael gwared â’r sustem sylwadau yn gyfan gwbl.

Prifysgol sy’n pwdu

Mae Prifysgol Cymru Aberystwyth wedi canslo lansiad eu cynllun iaith nes i ni Rhodri Williams, Bwrdd yr Iaith, ymddiheuro am ddweud y gwir eu beirniadu’n hallt am fod mor araf i weithredu yn y maes hwn.

A spokesman for the university said: “For Rhodri Williams to try and use the occasion in a public statement to wrongly criticise the University for being ‘unwilling’ to accept responsibility for the language and for prevaricating is grossly insulting.

“The university considers his statement to be egotistic and utterly unprofessional.

“Because he would not withdraw his words, Rhodri Williams was asked by the president of the university, Lord Elystan Morgan not to attend the launching ceremony.”

O, mae hynny yn broffesiynol iawn, bois. Am ffordd dda o ennill parch a dangos pa mor frwd yw’ch cefnogaeth tuag at yr iaith.
