Sa i’n cofio os ydw i wedi blogio’r stori hon o’r blaen, ond mae’n debyg bod siarad Cymraeg yn helpu plant gyda mathemateg:

While “ten”, “twenty” and “thirty” in English tell us little about their relative value, the Welsh names do. “Deg”, “Dau Ddeg” and “Tri deg”, indicate “ten”, “two-ten” and “three-ten”, in the same way that “Tri deg dau” (32) and “un deg tri” (13) explain their values through their names. To learn the names of numbers in Welsh, you have to learn the numbers for one to ten and the rules for combining them.

Posibilrwydd arall, wrth gwrs, yw bod addysg dwyieithog yn helpu plant yn gyffredinol gan ddatblygu eu sgiliau deongliadol. Dw i ddim yn gwybod: beth wyt ti’n feddwl?
